Parker Kligerman hilariously commemorates NASCAR Truck Series ‘win’ at Daytona
In NASCAR not everything goes your way, that’s just the nature of the beast. But credit Parker Kligerman for taking one of the worst moments of his early season and turning it into a hilarious win.
Almost literally. Kligerman took to Twitter on Monday with a post that will delight fans.
The 34-year-old NASCAR driver has a tradition to make a victory shirt when he wins a race. It’s something he has done for a while. Well, for a brief moment in time, Parker Kligerman had won the Fresh from Florida 250 on Feb. 14.
Then NASCAR handed down a post-race inspection violation, ruling that Kligerman’s truck was too low in the rear. That gave the victory to Corey Heim instead.
So Parker’s “victory” shirt took a hilarious shot at his own misfortune. Featured on the shirt with the bold text “DAYTONA WINNER *” was that sneaky little asterisk.
Lower on the shirt, the asterisk is noted as “FOR 45 MIN.” It’s red on black and features scenes from Parker Kligerman getting out of his truck and fist-pumping, thinking he had won. You can check it out below.
Parker Kligerman loses his appeal
Following the ruling from NASCAR, Kligerman and his team appealed the ruling over the truck’s height. He lost the appeal.
“Unfortunately we have lost our appeal regarding our disqualification from last week’s race in Daytona,” Henderson Motorsports said via a post on Twitter. “While we feel that we had a very strong case, we respect the panel’s decision. We’d again like to thank all the fans for their support. We’ve shown that we can compete, and we’ll be back. See you all in Bristol!”
Parker Kligerman competes in NASCAR part-time as he also covers Xfinity Series races for The CW. He raced in the Xfinity Series full-time in the last two seasons, finishing 10th in the final points standings in 2023 and 2024.
