Pennsylvania LB Terry Wiggins locks in Penn State official visit

In-state linebacker Terry Wiggins confirmed Tuesday evening that he’s locked in an official visit with Penn State. The Coatesville prospect posted on social media that he’ll visit the weekend of June 13-15. So far, it’s the first official visit date that he’s confirmed publicly.

Listed at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, Wiggins earned an offer from the Nittany Lions back in October. That resulted in him visiting for the first time a few weeks later for this year’s White Out game. He then returned to campus for a second time just under a month ago on Jan. 25.

“That was my first time seeing the facilities and everything. It was a great time up there,” Wiggins said following his junior day visit last month. “Obviously, I have a great relationship with a lot of the coaches. Between Coach Terry Smith, Coach Alan [Zemaitis], Coach [James] Franklin, Coach Dan Connor, I feel like I have a great relationship with all of them. So, first, I just want to say that getting up there and seeing all of them was amazing. I haven’t really spent much time up there, so being there with all of them together was great.

“But seeing their facilities was really cool to me. I got to see how Penn State breeds the best players in the country between their weight room, their nutrition room, their meeting rooms. That was all very cool for me to see all their facilities. I was excited to get up there and tour everything. It didn’t disappoint.”

In addition to that junior day visit, Penn State also took the opportunity to come to him during the January contact period. In addition to a meeting that he had with Franklin, Connor and Smith at his school, Connor also did an in-home visit with Wiggins and his family.

“It was just a good vibe the whole time,” Wiggins said when asked about Connor’s in-home visit. “We were talking about a lot of football, but other than that, we were having fun just chilling. He really enjoyed himself here and we enjoyed having his company.

“My mom loves to crack jokes and she’s also a big hugger. He gets a little awkward with the hugs [laughs], so my mom was cracking little jokes with him about that. But he’s a really nice guy, a real fun guy.”

Wiggins has earned 17 scholarship offers so far. In addition to Penn State, he also took junior day visits to Michigan State (Jan. 19) and Rutgers Feb. 1). Indiana, Maryland, Syracuse and Wisconsin all hosted him for games during the 2024 season.
