2026 safety Kaden Gebhardt sets three official visits

Top schools have emerged for Lewis Center (Ohio) Olentangy three-star safety Kaden Gebhardt, one of the top rising prospects in the Buckeye State.
As the process comes further into focus for the 6-foot-1, 200-pounder, he’s now locking in some official visit plans.
On Monday, Gebhardt told On3’s Steve Wiltfong that he’s set three official visits for the summer: Clemson (May 30), Ohio State (June 6) and Penn State (June 12).
The Nittany Lions currently have the slight edge for Gebhardt in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Wiltfong and Penn State insider Sean Fitz have each logged picks in favor of PSU landing the DB, while Ohio State insider Alex Gleitman has a pick in favor of the Buckeyes.
He’s seen both Happy Valley and Columbus plenty throughout his recruitment. The Big Ten programs are battling Clemson and Wisconsin heading into the spring.
Gebhardt is the No. 380 overall prospect and No. 33 safety in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 19 player in Ohio.
He’s put up impressive numbers for Olentangy High across his first three seasons. After tallying 94 total tackles in 2024, Gebhardt now has over 300 for his prep career, according to MaxPreps. He’s also nabbed nine interceptions.
Gebhardt talks three official visit destinations
In a previous interview with On3’s Chad Simmons, Gebhardt broke down his interest in Clemson, Ohio State and Penn State:
Clemson: “I was there for the first time two weeks ago and the visit was key. I loved it. At Clemson, I like what they do, the staff is so stable and it was great there. I spent a full day there and I had time with coach Swinney, coach Conn and coach Allen. Coach Allen offered me at Penn State and we have had a great relationship since. Clemson is a place I could really see myself at.”
Ohio State: “Ohio State is close to home, so being 15-20 minutes from campus would be great. I grew up rooting for them and following the program as an Ohio kid. I like coach Day and coach Guerrieri a lot too and we have great relationships. The defense fits me well, it is a top program and I can see myself there.”
Penn State: “Every time I am there, I feel like a top priority. The staff has shown me how badly I am wanted. They made a great hire (Jim Knowles), his scheme fits me great and I have been so many times. The coaches and how I feel when I am there is what I love most about Penn State.”
