WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Well, spring practice kicks off early next month, so we’re getting you fully up to speed heading into that. There’s our closer look inside the QB and RB rooms, gauging the strengths and areas that need to shape up. We also have your Miami national title, ACC and Heisman odds (i.e. Carson Beck), plus we take a look at the latest mock draft and which Canes are included. Also it’s our “Message Board Mania” week, meaning we are taking a message board post a day and blowing it up with our take. So don’t miss that, with today’s message board analysis coming from a post thoughtfully titled “Hate these mofos more than any other acc team.”

In recruiting? Be sure to check out five prospects Stephen Wagner points out that the Canes need to host this spring, and he also has an article breaking down how Miami’s new DB staff additions could pay off on the recruiting trail.

And there are plenty of individual updates as well.

New Miami coaching hire Will Harris had an immediate effect on target Ayden Pouncey, a four-star safety out of Winter Park (Fla.). Find out about that.

Miami’s chasing Michigan commit Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin four-star 2026 cornerback Brody Jennings, and we have the latest on that front as well. Also committed elewhere and considering an OV to Miami is Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County four-star receiver Devin Carter. So check out what he’s saying.

A player already committed to UM we catch up with is Miami (Fla.) Carol City four-star 2026 linebacker Jordan Campbell. Other top programs aren’t backing off and he shares the latest.

A major target we also update is Tampa (Fla.) Tampa Bay Tech four-star 2026 interior offensive lineman Canon Pickett. He hasn’t locked in any official visits, but the No. 228 overall prospect and No. 18 interior lineman in the cycle knows he’ll take one to Miami.

Plus a top prospect who has now locked in his UM OV is Petersburg (Fla.) Lakewood three-star offensive tackle Chancellor Campbell, and we catch up with him.

Miami also recently offered Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern four-star wide receiver Nalin Scott, so find out where things stand there. Another new offer from last week went out to Brownsville (Tenn.) Haywood 2026 four-star cornerback Caden Harris. Find out his thoughts on the Canes.

There’s an update with Fort Myers (Fla.) three-star offensive tackle Joel Ervin, who has Miami among four schools that are separating themselves.

A more in-the-future target? Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) 2027 receiver Julius Jones Jr. has already landed offers from more than a dozen top programs like Ohio State, Florida State, LSU, Auburn and Miami, and the Hurricanes are emerging as one of his early contenders.

Plus don’t miss our Inside The Lines feature with 2026 WR target Jasen Lopez.

And there was, of course, the baseball season starting and we had you covered with the opening series domination vs. Niagara. The basketball team also lost at Pitt so you will want to check out that recap, too, as well as our feature on Jalil Bethea.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Defensive tackle … Posted by justincane

We recruited the best DT class in the country a few years ago with Scott and Jones, didn’t we? Time for those guys to develop and play. Isn’t that the point of recruiting?

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

Miami linebacker Jordan Campbell (Photo by Chad Simmons/On3)

“I feel like Miami is really strong and hard on me and I’m really strong and hard on them, and they’re one of the ones that are telling me to make sure I take (other) visits and see other things, (go on) visits that aren’t Miami. They want me to be 100% sure that they’re a school that I want, and I’m pretty sure that they are. …It’s been great. It’s been genuine since day one, since the day I committed, so that’s why I’m still committed.”
