4-star QB Oscar Rios sets official visit to Arizona

It looks to be a Big 12 battle in the recruitment of Downey (Calif.) four-star quarterback Oscar Rios, a former Purdue commit and one of the top signal-callers in the 2026 cycle.
Arizona is in the mix for the 6-foot-3, 170-pounder. On Saturday, he announced that he’s set an official visit to Tucson for June 13.
The Wildcats are the fourth program to land an OV date from the blue-chipper. He’ll head to Oklahoma State for April 25 official and is also set to see Utah on June 6 and Colorado on June 20.
Rios is the No. 191 overall prospect and No. 15 QB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 22 player in California.
As a sophomore Rios passed for 2,633 yards and 23 touchdowns with 767 yards rushing and seven more scores. His junior year numbers looked quite similar — 2,554 passing yards, 22 passing touchdowns, 735 rushing yards and 11 more scores on the ground.
Rios led Downey to a 9-2 record that ended in a loss to Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra in the opening round of the CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs.
