Tom Brady invokes tuck rule while criticizing Super Bowl LIX call against Chiefs defense

Tom Brady invokes tuck rule while criticizing Super Bowl LIX call against Chiefs defense

Questionable calls are aplenty during the first quarter of Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, and Tom Brady has had enough.

Brady, who played in 10 Super Bowls and won seven during his 23-year NFL career, knows these games can come down to a few calls. Brady has been on both ends of it, notably the “Tuck Rule” game in the 2001 AFC Divisional Round. He recalled that game while breaking down a costly unnecessary roughness penalty on Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie.

Brady disagreed with the call.

Brady also disagreed with this call against the Chiefs.

“I don’t like that one, either…Look, I was on the end of the Tuck Rule and I was glad Twitter wasn’t around then.”pic.twitter.com/sYunedbrZN

[Dallas] Goedert was going up for it, McDuffie was too,” Brady said, via Awful Announcing. “It’s somewhat incidental. Ah, there’s not much there either. … I don’t like that one either. I just think you throw the ball high in the defense and he [Goedert] barely gets hit in the face and I just always feel like these big games come down to one or two calls. Look, I was on the end of the Tuck Rule, and I was glad Twitter wasn’t around then.”
