4-star DL Kamarion Franklin sets return visit to Miami

A day after he was back at Ole Miss for another visit, Lake Cormorant (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin will head down to Miami for another visit. The trip will be his second of the month to Coral Gables.
Franklin was at Miami June 2 for an official visit. This latest visit will mark his fourth time on campus this year alone.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder is the No. 38 overall prospect and No. 7 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Mississippi.
Franklin’s stayed busy during the new year with several trips to schools around the country. This year alone he’s visited 12 different schools.
Miami currently sits with the third-highest odds to land Franklin’s pledge according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) at 4.9%. Ole Miss sits in second at 7.6% while Tennessee holds a commanding lead at 73.2%.
While Tennessee holds a commanding lead in the RPM, Franklin left the last trip to Miami impressed with what he saw in the Hurricanes.
“I went there in January and March, and they impressed me both times, so I was expecting a lot from them being my first OV,” Franklin told On3 after the visit. “I felt the love from the head coach to the defensive coordinator to Jason Taylor, everybody, the prioritized me. I felt like a priority.”
“They just let me know that I’m wanted to play football, but they let me know they’re looking at me as a person and they enjoyed being around me. Those were the words of coach Cristobal. He loved being around me, loved the kind of person I am and that I can come in and change the program.”
On3’s Chad Simmons reported earlier in the month that the buzz for the last six weeks or so has been that a major battle between Miami and Tennessee is brewing. While Tennessee has the lead, Miami is making things at the top interesting.
