Report: Jimmy Butler traded to Golden State Warriors for Andrew Wiggins in another NBA blockbuster

The long-running saga is over. The Miami Heat are trading Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors for Andrew Wiggins and other assets in what’s shaping up to be a five-team blockbuster, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported.

Golden State is sending Wiggins and a protected first-round pick back to Miami while Dennis Schröder heads to the Utah Jazz and Kyle Anderson goes to the Toronto Raptors, Charania said. The Detroit Pistons are also involved, acquiring Lindy Walters III from the Warriors and Josh Richardson from the Heat. P.J. Tucker is also going to Miami.

It’s a long-awaited move for the Heat, who suspended Butler twice as he looked to get out of South Beach. Now, he’s getting ready to join forces with Stephen Curry as the Warriors look to kick things into gear. Butler is also signing a two-year, $121 million extension with Golden State, Charania and Brian Windhorst reported.

This story will be updated.
