Nightly Recruiting Briefing: Michigan State official visit week three

In tonight’s Nightly Recruiting Briefing we will discuss the latest Michigan State official visitor news. We will also discuss other Spartan recruiting buzz and more.
Decker DeGraaf visit pictures
Michigan State welcomed three-star tight end Decker DeGraaf of Glendora (Calif.) on his official visit over the weekend of June 16. Degraaf posted a video of him and head coach Mel Tucker getting into the slingshot for a tour around campus. SpartanMag.com was also sent a picture of DeGraaf posing with almost the entirety of the Michigan State offensive and recruiting staff. DeGraaf got a personal look at East Lansing and the Michigan State coaching staff, as the only visitor on campus over the weekend.
Tight ends coach Ted Gilmore also played host to three-star tight end Eric Karner out of Itasca (IL) Immaculate Concepcion School on June 2. Karner also visited Florida, on June 9, calling the Gators his leader after the visit. The Illinois tight end also holds offers from Alabama, Miami (FL), Iowa, Texas A&M, and more.
The Spartans will have an answer at the tight end position, weather it will be expanding the board and welcoming new targets, or landing one themselves as DeGraaf and Karner are both expected to have summer decisions.

New 2025 offer on campus
Michigan State offered class of 2025 athlete David Rodriguez on June 20 during an unofficial visit to East Lansing. It was the first visit to MSU for the 5-foot-11, 160-pound three-star out of Providence (RI) Mount Pleasant High School. The Spartans offered the top recruit in Rhode Island in the 2024 class as both a wide receiver and as a defensive back.
Rodriguez tells SpartanMag.com that Michigan State has “100%” earned themselves a spot in his top group alongside Georgia, Michigan, Penn State, South Carolina, and Maryland.
