Lucky Charms: Does Notre Dame still have a chance with Tennessee CB commit Kaleb Beasley?

Here are today’s Lucky Charms, a Monday-Thursday nightly insider notes article on Notre Dame football recruiting.
*** Nashville (Tenn.) Lipscomb Academy’s Kaleb Beasley, the No. 150 overall player and No. 19 cornerback according to the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking, officially visited Tennessee — the school he’s committed to — over the weekend. Despite Beasley being committed to the Volunteers since last October, the Notre Dame staff has remained in hot pursuit and hosted him on campus in April.
However, coming off his Tennessee visit, Beasley offered a notable quote regarding the status of his pledge with On3’s Volquest.com.
“I’m not taking any more visits,” Beasley said. “I think this is my only one.”
When a reporter followed up and asked specifically about Beasley still taking a Notre Dame official visit — which Blue & Gold reported would take place for the Ohio State game in September — Beasley said, “I don’t think so, no.”
In talking with a source connected to Beasley’s recruitment today, I’m told that the elite talent is remaining in contact with the Irish staff, which is big. Him saying he’s not taking the official visit is one thing, but if Beasley were to actually stop communicating with Notre Dame, then that would have been a major concern.
I’m fully expecting Notre Dame to continue to recruit Beasley hard, and the official visit for September will very much remain an option as far as I’m concerned.
Some sources on the Notre Dame side have been very optimistic about the possibility of flipping Beasley form Tennessee, while others think it’ll be extremely difficult. I lean more towards the latter, but everything will hinge on if he takes the official visit to Notre Dame or not.
*** Franklin (Mich.) Wylie E. Groves’ Avery Gach, the No. 185 player and No. 10 interior lineman according to the On3 Industry Ranking, is a top target for Notre Dame in the 2025 class. He recently spoke to On3’s Chad Simmons about his recruitment and thoughts on the Fighting Irish.
“They got a new offensive line coach (Joe Rudolph) that I’m very interested in,” Gach said. “The college football history there is really deep. Their academics are strong. The last visit was my first time actually seeing their campus and it’s pretty beautiful.”
The visit he referred to was for the Blue-Gold Game in April. Notre Dame offered him the month prior on Pot of Gold day.
“I want to take my time,” Gach said regarding his decision timeline. “When the time’s right, I’ll make my decision or cut it down. I’m going to take my time and not rush anything at all.”
