Report: Syracuse OC Jeff Nixon interviewed for same job with Houston Texans
Syracuse offensive coordinator Jeff Nixon could potentially return to the pros. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Nixon interviewed for the open offensive coordinator job with the Houston Texans.
Nixon brings several years of NFL experience and was most recently a running backs coach with the New York Giants in 2023. He also spent three seasons with the Carolina Panthers from 2020-22, even taking over as the interim offensive coordinator in 2021.
Nixon was also previously the offensive coordinator at Baylor from 2017-19 under Matt Rhule before joining the coach’s staff in Carolina.
This past season, he helped the Orange to rank second in the ACC in total offense and fifth in scoring offense. Syracuse finished with a 10-3 record, marking only the second time in the past 20 years that it has reached double digit victories.
