Kentucky WBB’s home game against Kim Mulkey’s No. 5 LSU Tigers is SOLD OUT

The hype around Kenny Brooks‘ first season as Kentucky women’s basketball head coach isn’t dying down any time soon.

UK announced on Wednesday that a Kentucky home game over a month away is already out of tickets. The opponent won’t shock you much though. The Wildcats’ showdown inside Memorial Coliseum against Hall of Fame head coach Kim Mulkey and the No. 5 LSU Tigers on Sunday, Feb. 23 has already sold out. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. EST on ESPN.

It marks just the second sell-out of the season for Kentucky WBB, the first happening during UK’s win over in-state rival Louisville on Nov. 16. The program already saw reserved season tickets sell out back in October.

Tickets for the LSU game at Memorial will still be available online, but they must be purchased through the Ticketmaster resale market. Tickets for the remaining home games are also still available at this time.

Kentucky, ranked 11th in the country, and LSU are two of the Southeastern Conference’s best teams this season. UK is 16-1 (5-0 SEC) with the lone loss coming back in early December to a North Carolina squad that is currently ranked 13th. Through 17 games, this is the third-best start in program history.

Meanwhile, the Tigers remain perfect (20-0; 5-0 SEC) on the season, including a recent ranked win over Tennessee. South Carolina is the only other SEC team yet to drop a conference game. That will change soon though when LSU and the Gamecocks clash on Friday in Columbia.

Kentucky will play eight more games before hosting LSU, three of them coming against Top 20 opponents. Brooks’ team will need that experience in high-profile games in order to take down the Tigers.
