Steelers vs. Ravens playoff delay: Amazon broadcast reveals drone caused stoppage
Saturday’s Wild Card playoff game between the Ravens and Steelers was delayed briefly in the second half after a drone was spotted above M&T Bank Stadium. Although the drone never entered the stadium, sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung stated that league rules require that play stops.
The delay occurred in the third quarter and is not the first time this has happened at a Ravens postseason game. A Pennsylvania man was charged with illegally flying a drone over M&T Bank Stadium during last year’s AFC Championship between Baltimore and the Kansas City Chiefs.
According to a report from CBS News, the FBI issued a warning to drone pilots prior to the game that the area around the stadium was considered to be under a “temporary flight restriction.”
