Oklahoma EDGE R Mason Thomas returning to Sooners in 2025

Oklahoma EDGE rusher R Mason Thomas is set to return to OU for the 2025 season, he announced via Instagram on Monday.

Thomas will be a senior next season and is coming off a breakout season that saw him total a career-high 9.0 sacks in 2024. He’s spent his entire college career in Norman.

It was reported that Thomas was mulling whether to enter his name into the 2025 NFL Draft or return to college. He still played in the Sooners bowl game, a 21-20 loss to Navy in the Armed Forces Bowl. Thomas logged one tackle during the contest.

Apart from his 9.0 sack total — which led the team by 5.0 sacks, he totaled 23 tackles, one pass breakup and a forced fumble. In his career, the 6-foot-2, 240-pound defensive end has produced 10.5 sacks and 39 tackles.
