Brock Bowers becomes third rookie TE to reach 1,000 receiving yards

Las Vegas Raiders rookie tight end Brock Bowers is in rarefied air after topping the 1,000-yard mark on the season in a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon.

Bowers hauled in a 32-yard pass from quarterback Aidan O’Connell to break through the 1,000-yard barrier.

That makes him one of just three rookie tight ends in NFL history to go over 1,000 yards receiving. The other two to do it are Chicago’s Mike Ditka (1,076 yards) and Atlanta’s Kyle Pitts (1,026 yards).

Brock Bowers will have a great chance to break the rookie record.

The Raiders have the rest of the game remaining against the Jaguars, as well as two full contests after that. So while it’s not a guarantee, the smart money is probably on Bowers taking down the rookie record.

He’s been a revelation since entering the league.

Las Vegas selected him with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, a first-round selection. He has made it count at every turn.

Better yet, Brock Bowers seems to be hitting his stride as the season continues on for the Raiders. He has had 100-yard outings in two of his last five games, while he’s also snagged a pair of touchdowns in that timeframe.

The two big games were as follows: 13 catches for 126 yards and a touchdown against Miami, then 10 catches for 140 yards and a touchdown against Kansas City.

All eyes will now be on Brock Bowers as the Raiders finish out their season, with the Georgia star having a chance to do something truly remarkable.
