Coveted 4-star transfer portal quarterback to visit South Carolina
South Carolina will get a weekend visit from Ohio State transfer portal quarter Air Noland, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. The former 4-star prospect in the class of 2024 left the Buckeyes after just one year in Columbus. Noland was the No. 59 overall prospect in the ’24 cycle, the No. 9 player in Georgia, and the No. 5 quarterback in the country. He also was viewed as a 5-star prospect by at least one major recruiting outlet.

Noland is one of the top transfer portal quarterbacks available. At 6’2″ and 195 pounds, Noland is an extremely accurate passer who also boasts some dual-threat ability. On3 viewed the left-handed QB as “one of the safest bets among quarterbacks in the 2024 cycle.”
Per Nakos’ report, Noland will check out the South Carolina football program and meet new offensive coordinator Mike Shula for a Saturday visit. Saturday is one of the final visit days available before a short recruiting dead period is in effect.
Gamecock quarterback LaNorris Sellers will be a redshirt sophomore in 2025, and the starting job belongs to him. However, Sellers will be NFL Draft-eligible after next year, and the Gamecocks’ scholarship numbers at the position are somewhat low. USC is expected to take a quarterback during this transfer portal cycle to back up their Heisman hopeful next season.
