Kentucky transfer WR Dane Key reportedly visiting Ole Miss

Barion Brown is trending toward landing at an SEC school not named Kentucky. Could another Wildcat transfer wide receiver do the same?

According to On3’s Pete Nakos, junior pass-catcher Dane Key will visit Ole Miss this weekend. He is expected to arrive in Ole Miss on Saturday afternoon. Georgia, South Carolina, Nebraska, and Miami (FL) are among the teams also recruiting Key through the portal.

A native of Lexington, Key appeared in 38 games for the Wildcats across his three seasons at Kentucky. He accumulated 126 receptions, 1,870 receiving yards, and 14 touchdowns during that span. As a junior in 2024, the 6-foot-3 wide-out hauled in team-highs in receptions (47) and receiving yards (715) with a pair of touchdowns.

Key is one of the few players to put their names in the transfer portal that Kentucky did not want to lose this offseason. The former four-star high school recruit is considered a Top 10 prospect currently in the portal and a Top 5 wide receiver. He announced his intentions to transfer out of UK on Dec. 4.
