Texas A&M OL TJ Shanahan enters the NCAA transfer portal

Texas A&M offensive lineman TJ Shanahan has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.

Shanahan redshirted in his first year with the Aggies in 2023 before making a more significant contribution this fall. In 2024 he appeared in six games, including two that he started in.

TJ Shanahan started at both left guard and at center this season, showing the kind of versatility that is heavily coveted out of the NCAA transfer portal.

It’s also something that Texas A&M would presumably have liked on its line going into the 2025 campaign. Shanahan had emerged as a capable contributor.

He proved that by starting at center against Bowling Green and then starting at left guard against LSU.

Prior to enrolling at Texas A&M, TJ Shanahan was ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 169 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He checked in as the No. 11 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 32 overall player in the state of Texas.

Enai White joins TJ Shanahan in transfer portal

TJ Shanahan isn’t the only Aggies player to hit the NCAA transfer portal in recent days, as EDGE Enai White also went portaling on Wednesday afternoon.

White played three seasons with the Aggies from 2022-24.

After playing in 12 games across his first two seasons with the Aggies, White saw his role diminish in 2024, playing in just one game. White’s 2023 season ended in November due to injury.

White was a four-star prospect in the 2022 signing class. He was also a Top 100 prospect in the class. He was the No. 7 edge rusher in the country and the No. 2 player in the state of Pennsylvania. Before ultimately deciding on signing with Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State were the other two finalists.
