Bulldogs in the NFL Update: Week 14
Football is hitting its stride.
As the NFL season is hitting its peak, former Mississippi State players are making their impact on the field.
For the third time in his career, Bulldog great Chris Jones won a super Bowl last season as he brought home the trophy for the second year in a row. With that came a monster contract for Jones as he became the highest paid defensive tackle in the league’s history. Additionally, Dak Prescott led the Dallas Cowboys with arguably his best season as a pro and followed that up by signing the largest contract in the history of the NFL this year.
Willie Gay Jr. finds himself with a new team this season as he joins JT Gray with the New Orleans Saints. Three State defenders look to make their debut this season as LB Bookie Watson (Cleveland Browns), Decamerion Richardson (Las Vegas Raiders) and DT Jaden Crumedy (Carolina Panthers) all made the team’s rosters.
This week, Darius Slay returned from a concussion and had six tackles and two pass deflections to help the Eagles knock off the Panthers. In that game, Crumedy made his NFL debut and grabbed a tackle. Special teams demon J.T. Gray notched 100 career tackles in the Saints’ win over the Giants. Martin Emerson hit a new career-high in tackles with 66.
