Kerr Kriisa Out “Indefinitely” with Foot Injury

The injury bug has bit the Kentucky point guard position. An ankle injury sidelined Lamont Butler for the Gonzaga game. Kerr Kriisa started in his absence. Now he’s on the sideline for the foreseeable future.

The University of Kentucky announced in a release that Kriisa is out “indefinitely.” A foot injury will require surgery.

“Surgery is set to happen in the coming days, and while the injury is not considered to be season-ending, he will be out indefinitely,” UK said in a statement.

Jeff Goodman added some more context, reporting that Kriisa suffered a Jones fracture in his foot. The recovery has an estimated timetable of 3-6 weeks.

Kriisa, a native of Estonia, began his college career at Arizona. He made a pitstop in West Virginia before joining Mark Pope’s squad at Kentucky. A career 36.2% three-point shooter, the swaggy 6-foot-3 guard has been a valuable jolt of energy off the bench for the Wildcats. This season he’s averaging 4.4 points,, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game on 27.9% shooting from the field.
