Newsstand: Elite 2026 WR recruit Naeem Burroughs includes Notre Dame in Top 6

The Notre Dame football program is still in the mix for one of the top wide receiver recruits in the 2026 cycle. On Thursday, Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School four-star wide receiver Naeem Burroughs included the Fighting Irish in his Top 6 schools.

“I haven’t been there, but I have watched them some, and I like how they play,” Burroughs told On3 director of recruiting Chad Simmons. “I have a great relationship with (wide receivers) Coach (Mike) Brown and (head) Coach (Marcus) Freeman.”

Burroughs, the No. 60 overall player and No. 9 wide receiver in the high school junior class, also included Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Texas and Wisconsin.

Among the schools that the No. 7 prospect in the Sunshine State left out of his top schools are Alabama, Auburn, Georgia LSU, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina, Southern Cal, Tennessee and Texas A&M. Each one offered him a scholarship.

Burroughs’ brother, Quincy Burroughs, is a junior wide receiver at Wisconsin. Brown recruited the older Burroughs to play for the Badgers and offered Naeem when he was a part of the Big Ten program.

Burroughs attends the same high school at Notre Dame 2026 four-star linebacker target Simeon Caldwell.

Notre Dame Quote of the Day

“His future is more important than winning one or two extra games. We care more about his future than we care about anything else. His health comes first. All of our guys, in that way.”
