Report: Appalachian State, Neal Brown have had multiple discussions about open head coaching job

Neal Brown could soon go from leading one group of Mountaineers to another. After being fired as the head coach at West Virginia earlier this week, it appears as though he may have a new head coaching job soon.

Brown has had multiple conversations with Appalachian State about its head coaching position, according to Dan Wetzel. The Yahoo Sports columnist revealed the news on Twitter Thursday afternoon.

Neal Brown went 37-35 in six seasons at West Virginia. He was hired as the head coach of the Mountaineers after going 35-16 in four seasons at Troy.

Appalachian State has an opening after head coach Shawn Clark was fired earlier this week.
