Michigan State secures signature from 2025 Gaithersburg (Md.) Quince Orchard CB Aydan West

Michigan State was able to secure the signature of class of 2205 cornerback commitment Aydan West this afternoon, as he announced his final decision on the first day of the early signing period during a ceremony at his high school.

West had been committed to the Spartans since June, as Michigan State was able to survive a late push from several programs, most notably Ohio State. The Buckeyes offered West during an official visit to Columbus on Nov. 24.

The cornerback returned to East Lansing for an unofficial visit during the Spartan loss to Purdue on Nov. 29. West and his family spent the weekend in East Lansing helping to reaffirm their commitment to the Spartan program.

Virginia Tech, UCLA, Minnesota, and others also attempted a late push for West. Head coach Jonathan Smith helped spearhead the charge to keep West in the fold. Secondary coach Blue Adams, along with general manager Cole Moore and others helped play a big role after the departure of cornerbacks coach Demetrice Martin.

West is ranked a three-star, the No. 867 overall recruit in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked the No. 84 cornerback and the No. 28 recruit in Maryland.

The cornerback took official visits to West Virginia and Cincinnati back in June along with Michigan State.

Scouting report:

West had an extremely strong senior season, logging eight total interceptions on the season, three he returned for touchdowns. He also tallied four receiving touchdowns on offense, along with a kick and a punt return touchdown each.

The rangy cornerback is polished in his technique. He is physical, with good ability ability to change direction and solid speed.

Quince Orchard will take on Upper Marlboro (MD) Wise High School (11-1) in the Maryland 4A High School state championships this Friday. Quince Orchard enters the game with a 12-0 record.
