Report: Oregon Will Target Elite Cornerback Transfer from Georgia
The transfer portal has not officially opened up yet. But that hasn’t stopped a flurry of players from announcing their intent to enter the portal.
Dan Lanning and his 12-0 team are going to have no shortage of interest from some of the top players that will enter the transfer portal. But there is already an elite cornerback announcing he’ll enter the portal and has interest in Oregon.
On3’s Steve Wiltfong reports Oregon is expected to be a contender for (former) Georgia cornerback Julian Humphrey. The 6-foot-1, 189-pounder is originally from Clear Lake HS down in Houston Texas. He signed with Georgia as a part of its 2022 class. He was the No. 82 ranked player in his class.
Texas A&M, Texas, Oregon, Miami and Alabama are the five schools Wiltfong reports will be involved in his transfer recruitment.
Humphrey started 10 games for Georgia this season. He will transfer with at least two years of eligibility remaining. He has recorded 9 tackles and 4 pass deflections this season.
I expect Humphrey to be one of the more sought after defensive players in the transfer portal.
The transfer portal officially opens Monday, December 9 this year.
