After picking up a first down on each of their first two drives, Virginia has not been able to break into SMU territory so far. UVA punts it away to SMU with 6: to go in the first quarter. SMU still leads, 7-0.

After a 52-yard catch-and-run by Moochie Dixon, Brashard Smith finds the end zone a couple of plays later to put the Mustangs up 7-0. 7:58 to play in the first quarter.
