Barion Brown injury update: Kentucky WR going to hospital for CT scans, out vs. Tennessee

Kentucky wideout Barion Brown is out for the remainder of the game against Tennessee, according to the SEC Network broadcast. Brown was reportedly taken to a UT Medical Center for precautionary CT scans.

Sideline reporter Tori Petry relayed early in the second half that Brown’s X rays for an apparent rib injury had come back negative, causing Wildcats medical staff to want further scans to see what’s happening. While X rays are useful for visualizing and diagnosing orthopedic injuries, they can’t image soft tissue, which a CT scan can.

And while he wouldn’t actually be the first SEC player to go from hospital to back in the game this season, Brown is reportedly done for the day, according to Petry.

This story will be updated.
