4-star DL Brandon Davis-Swain commits to Colorado
West Bloomfield (Mich.) four-star defensive lineman Brandon Davis-Swain has committed to Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. He chose the Buffaloes over Auburn, Michigan, Purdue and USC.
The 6-foot-2.5, 250-pounder is the No. 225 overall prospect and No. 24 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player in Michigan.
Davis-Swain is a former Notre Dame pledge who decommitted from the Fighting Irish on Dec. 11.
Colorado extended an offer to Davis-Swain on Jan. 20 and he was on campus eight days later for a visit. He returned on June 10 for an official and announced his decision during the visit.
“Our time with Coach Prime, it was a real spiritual thing,” Davis told On3’s Chad Simmons after the January visit. “God was definitely in the room. There were some tears shed.
“I had a fun time down there, talking to coach Hill. He’s a cool coach, a good coach. When we were down there, we had dinner. He was telling us about the school, where he’s from and stuff like that.”
Brandon Davis-Swain currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $59K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Davis-Swain adds to already solid 2024 class for Buffs
Deion Sanders shocked the college football recruiting world in back-to-back cycles first bring five-star cornerback Travis Hunter to Jackson State during the 2022 cycle. He then flipped five-star cornerback Cormani McClain away from Miami late in the 2023 cycle.
In his first full cycle with Colorado, Sanders has gotten off to a fast start.
Davis-Swain is the sixth commitment so far for the Buffaloes. He’s also the third four-star recruit they’ve been able to land so far in the cycle.
The rest of Colorado’s class includes Calabasas (Calif.) four-star cornerback Aaron Butler, Valdosta (Ga.) four-star defensive lineman Omar White, Indianapolis (Ind.) Cathedral three-star quarterback Danny O’Neil, Valdosta (Ga.) three-star defensive lineman Eric Brantley Jr. and Saint Peters (Mo.) Nevada three-star interior offensive lineman Talan Chandler.
With those pledges, Colorado currently has the No. 19 class in the country and No. 2 in the Pac-12. After Sanders came to Boulder last year, he helped the Buffaloes finish with he No. 35 class in the country and No. 6 in the Pac-12.
