Michigan QB battle: Wolverines reportedly make decision on starter vs. Michigan State

Michigan has reportedly made a decision on a starting QB for Saturday’s game against Michigan State. Davis Warren is expected to be the starter, according to a report from Matt Zenitz.

Warren began the year as Michigan’s starting quarterback, getting the nod through the first three games of the year. However, he hasn’t played since Week 3 as Alex Orji and Jack Tuttle took turns under center.

Warren completed 66.7% of his passes for 444 yards and two touchdowns across his three starts this year. However, in his final outing, he went 11-for-14 for 122 yards but threw three interceptions in a victory over Arkansas State.

In the time since, Orji and Tuttle got some looks at quarterback for Michigan, which takes a 4-3 record into Saturday’s game against its in-state rival. But the decision to go back to Warren is a shift from the beginning of the week when Sherrone Moore hinted Tuttle could start against MSU.

“I think right now, Jack (Tuttle) will be the guy,” Moore said on his Monday radio show, via Aaron McMann. “But you have to go through the week and see what happens.”
