Bryshawn Brown is among the most recent quarterbacks to hit Kentucky’s radar after a solid showing at a recent UK camp.
The 6-foot-5, 185-pound quarterback from Winton Woods (Cincinnati, OH) told KSR+ that Kentucky’s offensive coordinator Liam Coen was the one to extend him an offer after camp on Thursday.
“It’s a blessing,” Brown said. “I was happy. That’s what I’ve worked for. We had a good conversation, talking about football. The goal that I set for myself was to get that offer.”
Playing at Kentucky’s single-day camp at Kroger Field, Brown was impressed with the talent all-around.
“It was a great camp with a lot of talent and competition everywhere,” he said. “It was nice. I know they’ve got good academics and a great football team. They’re just good all-around.”
As for his own fit at Kentucky, Brown wants to learn more about the program.
“I don’t know how their offense runs,” he said. “I’ve been there a few times, about four times. I went to a couple games.”
From his numerous visits, Brown has been blown away by the love from the fans.
“I like how involved their student section is,” he said. “The environment was lit. I like their weight room too. Their weight room is nice.”
Having been on campus multiple times, Brown should be back again in the near future.
“[Liam Coen] told me I could come down to a camp whenever I need to get some work in,” he said. “I definitely will be back.”
His Wider Recruitment
For Bryshawn Brown, receiving a Kentucky offer was a long time coming.
“This is my first offer,” he said. “Many more to come. I’ve just gotta stay humble and focus on what I’ve gotta do to get there.”
Being in the class of 2026, Brown isn’t hearing from a ton of schools, but that may change as he attends upcoming camps. He said he’ll be at Alabama (June 17) and Marshall (June 24).
“I might go to some more camps,” he said. “I don’t know yet.”
As for what kind of program he’s looking for, Brown said, “I’m looking for a school with a great system, a great school, a great football team, great coaching, and somewhere I can learn.”
Bryshawn Brown’s Game
Bryshawn Brown is entering his sophomore year and there are a lot of positives to his game.
“My greatest strength is being able to throw the ball,” he said. “I’m a leader. I can run when I need to. I can break down the defense.”
However, that doesn’t mean he’s done getting better.
“I’m focused on improving my footwork,” he said. “I can improve everything. Everything is good. I’m just focused on improving my footwork and reading the defense better. I read the defense, but it could be better. I want to get better, faster, and stronger.”
