Steelers’ fans boo Russell Wilson in first half of Sunday Night Football

Steelers’ fans boo Russell Wilson in first half of Sunday Night Football

In his debut with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Acrisure Stadium gave a not-so-warm welcome to the early play of Russell Wilson.

Wilson started 2/8 for 19 yards through the start of the second quarter against the New York Jets. That led to booing by the crowd after another incompletion led to a third straight three-and-out for their offense.

However, on the following drive, Wilson was much improved off of two completions alone. He hit George Pickens with a 44-yard completion before finding Darnell Washington for 18 more on a nine-play drive that ended in a field goal for Pittsburgh.

Quarterback was the biggest conversation this week regarding Pittsburgh. After starting at 4-2 with Justin Fields, Wilson made his first appearance of the season with his new team. That was after Field was 106-160 (66.3%) for 1,106 yards, five touchdowns, and an interception, plus 231 yards and five more scores when rushing, as the starter to begin the season.

Wilson has some work to do to get back to being himself after his first snaps of the season. That starts with turning some of those boos into a couple cheers before the end of their primetime game tonight.

Michael Keaton mocks Jets, Davante Adams trade in open to Sunday Night Football

One day after hosting Saturday Night Live on NBC, Michael Keaton did the promo for Sunday Night Football tonight between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets. The Pennsylvania native took the opportunity to prop up his hometown team while also taking a few shots at the opponent.

“I think I can say with authority, that all is not right in Gotham.”

Keaton also made reference to the recent trade that reunited Davante Adams with Aaron Rodgers. The pair spent eight seasons together in Green Bay. Adams is now set to make his debut with the Jets against the Steelers.
