Second big June official visit weekend is under way

South Carolina’s second big recruiting weekend of June is underway as the Gamecocks are set to host 11 official visitors on campus Friday through Sunday.

GamecockCentral has confirmed that all 11 expected visitors have made it to campus this evening.

South Carolina has slightly shifted its itinerary for this weekend’s visits with Friday night featuring a welcome video, presentation and dinner at Williams-Brice Stadium. As always, the meat of the visit will take place throughout Saturday.

I’m aware that there’s a Crystal Ball out there in favor of South Carolina with running back Matthew Fuller, and I’d agree with the sentiment that the Gamecocks are likely the favorite there. As we’ve said before, South Carolina has been in pretty good shape for Fuller to be a part of the class since they offered. Fuller is being hosted this weekend by Vershon Lee.

There are quite a few guys on this list who I’m looking forward to hearing the feedback on following the visits because many of them are prospects that either South Carolina is relatively new on (Fred Johnson, Nasir Johnson, Quintavius Johnson Jr., Nnamdi Ogboko) or are prospects that play it pretty close to the vest (Kaleb Harris, Malcolm Ziglar) — my hope is we’ll know a lot more after this weekend.

Among the guys that South Carolina has the most work to do with is probably Kam Mikell, who Torrian Gray has done a phenomenal job with but is considered a lean to UGA.
