Michigan State releases week 8 availability report

Michigan State releases week 8 availability report

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State will play without wide receiver Antonio Gates Jr., defensive back Dillon Tatum and cornerback Chance Rucker against Iowa Saturday night. The Spartans listed all three of those players as “out” against the Hawkeyes.

Michigan State listed wide receiver Alante Brown and defensive end Avery Dunn as “questionable.”

This is the first week the Spartans have listed Brown as “questionable” since he sustained an injury during the Spartans’ week one victory over Florida Atlantic. Dunn began the season injured, but returned in week four. This is the first time Michigan State has listed him as “questionable” this season.

After being listed as “out” for the Spartans’ last game against Oregon, cornerback Ade Willie did not appear on this week’s availability report. It appears he will be available against Iowa.

Like Brown, Tatum became injured in week one. Rucker sustained his injury in week two against Maryland. Gates became injured following Michigan State’s week three win over Prairie View A&M.

Tight end Michael Masunas, safety Khalil Majeed and offensive guards Kristian Phillips and Gavin Broscious remain out for the season.
