Florida Gators initial injury report for Kentucky game

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators will host the Kentucky Wildcats this Saturday, looking to snap a three-game losing streak to the Wildcats and prevent the longest losing streak to UK since 1948-51.

“Kentucky has a good football team. Regardless of the record, when you turn on the tape you see a team that has height, length, and speed, and certainly has an identity in all three parts of their team and can create a ton of issues for you,” Florida head coach Billy Napier said of Kentucky.

“Strong defensive unit that has a bunch of veteran players. Obviously an offensive unit that has improved every week. And special teams, they’ve got dynamic returners that can cause some headaches. So Coach Stoops does a really good job. Have a ton of respect for him as a coach in terms of what he’s accomplish and the consistency in which they played. So Kentucky is much better than their record says, and obviously this will be a big challenge. We’re excited about being back at home.”

As per SEC rules, the Gators and Wildcats both provided injury updates on Wednesday night.

The four pre-game designations are:

Out (i.e., will not play/0% chance to play);

Doubtful (i.e., unlikely to play/25% chance to play);

Questionable (i.e., uncertain to play/50% chance to play); or

Probable (i.e., probable to play/75% chance to play).

The Gators will be without starting quarterback Graham Mertz, who was lost for the seaosn with an ACL injury. Linebacker R.J. Moten is also a new addition to the injury report. Starting running back Montrell Johnson also sustained a leg injury in the loss to Tennessee. While he wasn’t able to return to the game, he is listed as questionable (50% chance to play) this week. Backup running back Treyaun Webb was upgraded to questionable after missing the last two games.
