NFL fines Panthers TE Tommy Tremble for hit that concussed himself, Jaquan Brisker
The NFL has fined Carolina Panthers tight end Tommy Tremble an amount of $17,083 for unnecessary roughness/use of helmet after he collided with Bears safety Jaquan Brisker in a Week 5 matchup.
Tremble appeared to lower his head as Brisker attempted to tackle him, causing helmet contact before fumbling the ball. Both players suffered concussions as a result and are out for Week 6.
Tremble is the starting tight end for the Panthers and they will have to look elsewhere for a matchup against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. He is one of two tight ends on the mend for the team as Ian Thomas is questionable due to a calf injury.
Ja’Tavion Sanders would be expected to see an increased role this week with Tremble out. The rookie out of Texas was selected in the fourth round this offseason and has eight catches for 41 yards through the first five games.
Kickoff between the Panthers and Falcons is set for 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday in Charlotte.
