Kentucky’s BBM 3-point contest will feature six star shooters
The details continue to roll out for Kentucky‘s Big Blue Madness event and the start of the Mark Pope era in Lexington. We know about the state-of-the-art ASB GlassFloor and the visitors — Acaden Lewis being the ultimate and immediate prize — but what else can fans expect tonight inside Rupp Arena?
The 3-point contest is back and (likely) better than ever, which is to be expected considering it’s “the best shot-making team in the country,” according to Coach Pope. And it’s going to feature six standout shooters, all capable of winning on any given night.
The participants? Travis Perry, Kerr Kriisa, Jaxson Robinson, Trent Noah, Koby Brea and Ansley Almonor.
Kentucky revealed the group participated in a 3-point contest preliminary round to get the hang of the format, Kriisa leading all participants with 35 points.

Who do you expect to win tonight inside Rupp Arena? It doesn’t really matter, because we know they can all hit shots in real games.
“This is the best shooting team I’ve ever been a part of, and it’s probably going to be the best shooting team I’ll ever be a part of,” Amari Williams said at UK Media Day.
“It’s not even just off of practice,” Otega Oweh added. “Like, y’all see the practice clips and all that stuff, but if you see them in workouts and just every day, like when they’re just in here getting their shots up, it’s crazy. The amount of shots people make in a row is wild.”
Even Koby Brea — who Pope called “the most efficient mid-to-high major player in college basketball in the last decade” — is starting to question if he’s even the best marksman on the team.
“I’ve never been around a group of guys that can shoot it this well,” he said. “It’s just like — I’m usually the best shooter on my team. Now I’m starting to second guess that.”
