Mario Cristobal camp Thursday 4-star standout has Miami in top three: “Miami is home”

Miami Booker T. Washington 2025 4-star S Antonio “TJ” Branch, Jr. has the Miami Hurricanes favored in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine at 69.8 percent, and he lists 11 early offers including Miami, Michigan, Florida State, West Virginia and Auburn.

Branch, Jr. has taken multiple Miami visits, including yesterday for the Mario Cristobal 7-on-7 camp.

Branch, Jr. says he’s formed a good bond with coaches to this point.

“Talking with coach Cristobal – he’s a great coach,” Branch, Jr. said. “He’s a good motivational speaker and it’s a great program. He wants you to work, shows enthusiasm.”

He adds “Miami is home, they are definitely top three on my list.”

The other two atop his list?

“I’m keeping that to myself,” Branch, Jr. says.

He adds that there is no timeline in mind for announcing a decision but that he plans to play in college with teammate and fellow 2025 4-star Ben Hanks, Jr. (who has Miami among his 23 offers and is also favored to pick the Canes by the RPM).

“He’s my cousin (on his father’s side),” Branch, Jr. said.

So what does Miami need to show him moving forward to win out?

“Miami doesn’t have to show me anything, really,” Branch, Jr. said “It’s in my backyard, so…”

CaneSport’s take

Branch, Jr. and Hanks, Jr. will be visiting Florida State June 18, and the Canes coaches will no doubt be pushing hard for a while to make sure both these talented DBs wind up on campus in the end. We feel very good about the situation with Branch, Jr. winding up a Cane, and perhaps it’s a little more of a question with Hanks Jr. but there’s a good shot at both as of this early point.
