More books list the Texas Longhorns as 14.5-point favorites over Oklahoma
Where FanDuel first trekked, many other books followed. As more and more lines were released for week seven of college football, spreads where the No. 1 Texas Longhorns opened as 14.5-point favorites over the Oklahoma Sooners made their way to market.

DraftKings, FanDuel, Bally Sports, and BetRivers all have Texas as a 14.5-point favorite. This is a massive swing from when a number of sports books released odds in the summer that had the Longhorns favored by around eight points.
On FanDuel, the Longhorns were -690 favorites on the money line while Oklahoma carried +480 odds to win straight up. FanDuel set the point total at 51.5.
According to FanDuel data, 55% of the money and the bets are on Texas minus the points. The Longhorns are 4-1-0 against the spread this year, while Oklahoma is 3-2-0.
CircaSports opened at Texas -14 with a point total of 49.5. That creates for an implied score of about 31-18 in favor of the Longhorns.
This large of a spread in the Red River Shootout is rare
According to OddsShark, there have been eight Red River Shootouts since 1996 where either the Longhorns or the Sooners were double-digit favorites.
Texas was a two-touchdown favorite in 2005.
Texas easily cleared the spread during that game on its national championship run with a 45-12 win. The Longhorns outgained OU 444 to 171, forced two turnovers, and limited the Sooners to a meager 12 first downs. Vince Young was 14-for-27 for 241 yards and three touchdowns plus 45 yards on the ground. Selvin Young, Jamaal Charles, Billy Pittman, and Ramonce Taylor all scored touchdowns for the Longhorn offense. Rod Wright had a 67-yard fumble return to put the game at its final margin. David Pino added a field goal, too.
In every other instance of there being a double-digit spread since 1996, the Sooners have been the favorite.
According to OddsShark, Texas is 15-11-1 against the spread in the Red River Shootout over the past 27. More important to all involved, Texas is only 11-16 straight up against OU.

There are six days until the Red River Shootout. Texas will battle Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl on October 12 at 2:30 p.m.
