Luke Wafle is a prospect on the rise.
The intriguing 2026 EDGE out of Princeton (N.J.) Hun School recently notched his first two offers from Boston College and Rutgers and is sure to see his stock continue to boom as he enters his sophomore season.
“Ever since I came to Hun, it’s been great,” Wafle said. “It’s a huge difference from my old school. It’s really exciting. It’s a dream come true. Owen (Wafle) put a little pressure on me, so I have to follow in his footsteps.”
Wafle is the younger brother of three-star 2024 defensive lineman and top Michigan target Owen Wafle.
Owen, of course, backed out of his verbal commitment to Notre Dame last month and is now trending heavily to Michigan. The Wolverines have an 82.9 percent chance of landing Owen, per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Luke is on Michigan’s radar and hopes his own offer from the Wolverines will come at some point in the near future.
“It would be incredible to get an offer from Michigan,” Wafle said. “I’m so proud of my brother and am really excited for him. It would mean everything for Michigan to offer me, too. Owen has given high praise to the program, and I believe in my brother.”
Luke will get his first Michigan experience when he joins Owen in Ann Arbor on his official visit this weekend.
“I’m excited to go out there with my brother for his official visit,” Wafle said. “I want to see the unity in the program. I want to see the love that they show my brother. As long as my brother is excited, I’m excited.”
Luke added that he believes Owen is one of the best defensive linemen in the country.
“He’s one of the most impressive human beings I’ve seen in my life,” Wafle said. “He’s 290 and has abs. He’s full muscle. It’s incredible. I hope I can be better than him, but I don’t want to say anything right now (laughs).”
Luke spent his freshman season at Middletown South, where he recorded 57 tackles, including 14.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks and one forced fumble. He will play his sophomore season at Hun School.
At 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, Luke is not yet ranked.
Michigan has no commits in its 2026 recruiting class at this time.
