Officials miss clear pass interference call, Kalen DeBoer livid in response

Kalen DeBoer does not have too much to be upset about, with Alabama dominating Georgia in Tuscaloosa by a score of 30-7. However, the lead could have been a lot larger had it not been for a missed pass interference call late in the second quarter. DeBoer was not too happy on the sideline, pleading with the officials to throw the flag.

Georgia defensive back Daniel Harris was a little early after Jalen Milroe threw to Germie Bernard on a third-down pass. Getting the call would have given Alabama a first down and an opportunity to score another touchdown or at worst, get a field goal before the half.

DeBoer was hot and ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit understood why. It’s not too often we see DeBoer in that manner, usually being a little more calm on the sideline. Herbstreit loved to see the intensity from the Alabama head coach despite being up by 23 points.

“There you go, for Alabama fans,” Herbstreit said. “He’s so mild-mannered with the media and when you see him talk. There’s that competitive spirit showing up. He’s fired up… Anytime you see Kalen DeBoer get animated like that, it’s usually for a good reason. He’s not just going to do that to do that. He’s going to do that when he feels like he has the right to be upset.”
