Which Gators official visitor is most likely to commit to Florida this weekend?

Which Gators official visitor is most likely to commit to Florida this weekend?

As it stands today, the Gators will be hosting 13 official visitors on June 9-11. It will be the second consecutive weekend with a double-digit amount of official visitors in town, as 17 made their way to Gainesville last weekend.

This weekend, however, Myles Graham will be the lone Florida commit in town. That means UF will be going all in to expand the 2024 class with plenty of targets on campus.

So, let’s have some fun.

Based off intel and where each prospect is at in the recruiting process, Gators Online highlights the one visitor we believe is most likely to commit after spending several days at the Swamp.

The Pick: Three-star DB Justin Denson Jr.

This is a prospect who has been generating a whole lot of interest as of late; in fact, a few months ago on Twitter, the Rhode Island native posted a picture of him holding a boatload of handwritten letters from the Gators. And yes, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound rising senior is from Rhode Island, which is not often on the radar of the Orange and Blue.

Florida is the No. 1 school for Denson as well. Napier’s staff extended a scholarship offer on April 4 and then welcomed him to campus just three days later. He ended up spending multiple days on campus and then labeled the Gators the front runner shortly thereafter.

So, with Denson traveling back across country for his official visit and already having UF on top, it would not surprise me if he pulled himself off the market. He has already seen nearly everything from his previous multi-day visit. This weekend could just end up being the cherry on top.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Denson is the 40th-ranked safety with On3. He has experience playing safety and cornerback and accumulated three interceptions and six pass deflections during the 2022 season.

However, Denson says no schools are recruiting him for safety. Each of his scholarship offers is to play cornerback, including his one from the Gators.

“I’m very versatile. I can play anywhere in the secondary,” Denson told me after his first visit. “I spent my time with (defensive backs) coach (Corey) Raymond. He is really a legend. I learned so much in my two days and am truly blessed to have been around him.

“The facilities, coaching staff, location, coach Napier, everything really (interests me).”

We will see if the Gators can shut it down this weekend. Penn State is the school that has received the most visits, but Florida has the advantage right now. And based off UF’s previous official visit weekends, it’s safe to assume Denson will be taken aback this time around as well.

Alabama, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Miami, Oklahoma and Kentucky are some additional offers on the table.

Stay tuned to Gators Online.
