Alex Bowman fires back at rumors after Spire announcement

Today, perhaps no one was more vindicated by the Rick Ware and Spire Motorsports announcement than Alex Bowman. Rumors were swirling that Justin Haley would somehow take Bowman’s ride from him next NASCAR season.

Well, now we know that isn’t going to happen. Justin Haley is replacing Corey LaJoie at Spire Motorsports next season. In fact, the two drivers are being traded starting next week for the rest of the season between their respective teams.

So, with that news, Bowman feels pretty good about himself. He kept telling people that he had a ride next year and was not worried about losing the one he is in right now. Turns out, he was right.

“Pretty much, you didn’t listen to me,” Alex Bowman said, via Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports. “I told you guys nothing was changing and imagine that, nothing changed. So, yeah, everything’s good.”

With Justin Haley announced Friday as the driver of the Spire No. 7 car next year, that is another sign that Alex Bowman is good for another season in the Hendrick No. 48 car.
