Miami has kept Miami (Fla.) Norland 2025 three-star athlete Jade Card on its radar and closely monitored the prospect at the Hurricanes‘ prospect camp Sunday, and the 6-foot-3, 190-pound recruit is taking notice.
Card, the No. 381 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking and No. 21 overall receiver, is slowly emerging as a potential climber in the 2025 class and has maintained regular contact with receivers coach Kevin Beard since landing his Miami offer. Card also has offers from Florida State and Pittsburgh but has real interest in Miami as the Canes continue to pay careful attention to South Florida prospects.
Beard was able to interact with Card one-on-one in the camp setting and offer technique advice and how Card can advance his game before engaging in the typical recruiting discussions asking how he liked the camp and enjoyed his time on campus.
Miami is recruiting Card at receiver.
“Coming out of camp, I saw a lot of good players come through (Miami), and I want to be the best to ever do it,” Card said.
Card has talked to Beard roughly once per week through his high school coach since he remains an underclassman, but that hasn’t stopped him from feeling like he’s formed a relationship with Miami’s receivers coach. He anticipates that contact will increase after Sept. 1, once Card will already be a high school junior.
“I think it’ll pick up a lot more, because I’m really interested in Miami,” Card said. “I want to see what’s coming in, what’s going out, and then what’s going on other than football — you know, education-wise.”
Card estimates he’s been on campus “three or four times” so far for various events and has liked what he’s seen from the Hurricanes. Florida State and Pittsburgh are also high on his list, and he spoke with coaches from Toledo following Sunday’s camp. But Miami is making an effort Card has taken note of.
“Miami’s definitely showing a lot of love,” Card said. “They’re showing a lot of love. I’m from Miami. It’s the crib. So if you’re at Miami, where you at?”
CaneSport’s Take
It’s safe to expect the Hurricanes to bring Card back to campus this summer or fall, and he’ll likely get an invite to a game this fall as Miami starts to slowly build its 2025 recruiting list. He’s likely to nab a few more Power Five offers this summer.
