Missouri vs. Vanderbilt odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch

The SEC schedule has arrived as Missouri hosts a hungry Vanderbilt team in an interesting Week 4 matchup.

The Commodores had an impressive two-week start to the 2024 season, but a Week 3 loss on the road at Georgia State comes at a tough time as the Tigers are looking to prove why they should be a part of the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Missouri has opened as a 21.5-point favorite at home against Vanderbilt. The over/under point total is set at 52.5.

Last season, the two former SEC East foes met in Nashville which saw the Tigers down the Commodores 38-21 after a 21-point second half kept Vanderbilt at bay. Missouri leads the all-time series 11-4-1, including winning seven of the last eight matchups in the series dating back to 2016.

The Tigers looked dominant during their first two matchups of the season, pitching back-to-back shutout wins to open the season against Murray State and Buffalo. In Week 2, they defeated the Bulls by a score of 38-0 on Saturday as Mizzou scored five rushing touchdowns en route to victory.

For the ‘Dores, while coming off a loss, quarterback Diego Pavia has continued to lead the way to an impressive start to the season for Vanderbilt. Upsetting the Virginia Tech Hokies at home in overtime is a feather in the cap of head coach Clark Lea.

Against the Hokies, Pavia finished the game 12-of-16 passing for 190 yards, two touchdowns and 26 carries for 104 yards and one rushing touchdown.

“I feel like I knew who I could be from the start,” Pavia said after the Week 1 win. “It’s a compliment to coach Beck and coach Kill trusting me to recruit me like out of the portal. People wanted me, but it was never Power Five, and I just feel like I’m the best player in the country, and I’m here to show it. That’s what I want to do, week in, week out, whatever it takes to win. And that’s my mentality every single week that I step on the field.”

Still, Missouri has staked their claim as a Colllege Football Playoff and even the SEC Championship contender in December if the season goes as expected. They expect to continue their success against the Commodores in Week 4.
