Dazmin James suspended for UAB game, Sam Pittman states

Arkansas receiver Dazmin James is suspended for the Razorbacks’ Week 3 game against UAB, coach Sam Pittman announced in his Monday press conference. Pittman added that the suspension was due to a “violation of team rules” and that James will return in Week 4.

The redshirt freshman has not played an offensive snap for the Razorbacks this season according to Pro Football Focus. He saw action on special teams in the season-opening win against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Given that, his absence should have minimal impact on the Arkansas game plan outside of a hit to their depth.

James signed with Arkansas in 2023 as a three-star prospect out of Clayton (NC) High School. He did not appear in any games as a true freshman to preserve his redshirt season. The receiver caught 43 passes for 601 yards and five touchdowns as a high school senior.

With it still being early in his college career, perhaps he can carve out a role for himself down the road. However, it appears he will be used sparingly again this season and he will next be eligibly to play against Auburn on Sept. 21.
