Brad Keselowski leaves door open for RFK Racing to add third car in 2025

Brad Keselowski leaves door open for RFK Racing to add third car in 2025

RFK Racing, formerly Roush Fenway Racing, has been a two-car operation full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series since 2017. Since Brad Keselowski’s arrival as co-owner in 2022, there’s been speculation that RFK could add a third full-time charter but to this point, nothing has materialized.

With Silly Season in full swing, Keselowski discussed Friday the possibility of RFK fielding a third charter full-time. Keselowski didn’t close the door on the possibility, though he didn’t offer an exact timeline.

Lots of chatter on whether RFK could add a third Cup car full time for next year. What Brad Keselowski said today (not much) — he won’t rule it out and won’t rule out, if the organization adds a car, that it could run unchartered. pic.twitter.com/WGZPMTTXGj

“Not today but hopefully soon,” Keselowski told Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports.

Keselowski currently pilots the flagship No. 6 car, while Chris Buescher is in the No. 17. Both have been key in revitalizing RFK, winning four races combined since the beginning of the 2023 season. In addition to Keselowski and Buescher, RFK has had multiple drivers run the No. 60 car for select races this season. David Ragan ran the Daytona 500, while Cam Waters was behind the wheel at Sonoma. Joey Hand piloted the car to a P4 finish in the Chicago Street Race last month.

Brad Keselowski addresses speculation of RFK Racing fielding three cars full-time

Pockrass previously mentioned that RFK is in the running for a Kroger sponsorship in 2025, which could lead the way for the team to field a third car full-time.

“RFK Racing is in the running to get the Kroger sponsorship for 2025, and if so, could possibly start a third full-time car,” Pockrass recently wrote. “Brad Keselowski said on Aug. 23 about being ready to start a third full-time car: ‘Not today but hopefully soon.’ He even left the door open to run a third car unchartered. Kroger has previously been a sponsor of Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece, and had good relationships with both when they drove for JTG Daugherty Racing.”

Keselowski said “absolutely” to the idea of RFK running a third car unchartered in 2025.

“I would say anything’s on the table,” Keselowski said. “We did this year, not full-time. … Nothing’s off the table.”
