2026 3-Star ATH Amari Sabb Building ‘Good, Strong Relationship’ with Kentucky
2026 three-star athlete Amari Sabb is in the process of planning a visit to Kentucky. It’ll be his first time on UK’s campus.
The 5-foot-7.5, 150-pound slot receiver and defensive back from Glassboro (Glassboro, NJ) told KSR+ that Kentucky has remained in consistent communication since his offer in May. UK wide receiver coach Daikiel Shorts has been the main point of contact.
“I like Kentucky. We have a good, strong relationship,” Sabb said. “They came up to my school a couple of times and I’m hoping to make it down there to see them. We have a good relationship.”
Shorts has visited Sabb at his school in the past. Now, Sabb wants to make his way to Kentucky.
“I don’t know when exactly. The date is in the making,” he said. “It should be coming up soon. I want to catch a game this year.”
When on a game day visit, Sabb will be paying attention to the relationship between the coaches and the players. He also wants to see the intensity in pregame preparation.
“I’ll be looking at the intensity in warmups, how the coaches interact with players in the warmups, what they do, what their pregame rituals are like, what’s going on before the game, what’s going on in the locker room, what’s going on when they’re on the field, and all of that stuff,” he said.
Sabb sees himself fitting in well with Kentucky’s offense and defense. He is open to playing both sides at the college level.
“They do a lot of things that I could see myself doing,” he said. “With their play style, the way they run their offense, and the way they run their defense, I could fit in great.”
His Wider Recruitment
Amari Sabb has become a very popular name in the 2026 class with plenty of the nation’s top programs in pursuit. His younger brother, Xavier Sabb, is also a name to monitor as a top-10 overall prospect in the 2027 class.
“The entire experience has been good,” Amari Sabb said. “Not many people get to experience this, so it’s a blessing that I get to experience it in the first place. My little brother and I are going through it at the same time, so it’s a great experience.”
Sabb has been hearing from Penn State, USC, Oregon, Alabama, Michigan, and Tennessee, among others. His most recent visit was to Rutgers.
“I’m looking for a relationship and connection with the players,” Sabb said. “Football is a temporary game, so I want to know what they can do for me after I’m done playing the sport. I want to see the relationships they have with the players.”
Amari Sabb’s Game
Three-star athlete Amari Sabb of Glassboro (NJ) is the nation’s No. 410 overall prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks Sabb as the No. 58 athlete and the No. 16 best player in New Jersey.
Sabb considers his field awareness, route running, quickness, and ability to stop to be his greatest strengths. He wants to improve his all-around game.
“I really don’t have anything specific,” Sabb said. “I’d like to think I can improve on everything all the time. Every time I work out, I want to improve on everything I can do and make everything better.”
Sabb sees himself fitting into a system that gets the slot receivers involved. He wants a lot of screen passes to slot receivers, quick routes, and just being able to get the ball in his hands.
