The 5-Star Pick is In for Sooners

The momentum has been building for weeks, Oklahoma and Michael Fasusi have seemed to be circling each other. From the time that Fasusi left his Sooners official visit on June 14 there has been considerable chatter that they had pushed themselves to the top of his list. The nation’s No. 3 offensive tackle, and No. 12 overall player is set to make his decision in just a few days.

The 6-foot-5, 299-pound prospect held the Sooners near the top of his list for months, arguably years. But through the spring there was little talk about Oklahoma. The rumors swirled and circulated around Texas and Texas A&M. But now as we sit less than four days from his decision, it seems that the Sooners may be ready to close on one of their most crucial recruitments in memory.

And though many wrote off Oklahoma’s chances in the spring, Fasusi was always adamant about his feeling for the Sooners.

“I would put OU very high on my list, there’s a reason they are in my top 7 of course. It’s always love when I go there. And this time, I just I felt more of that love,” Fasusi said back in April. “Watching their practice, I love what I saw, I love their culture, their staff, the brotherhood. It’s a player-led team. They are still high on my list. I don’t see them coming down any time soon.”

The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
