As Softball America grows its coverage at all levels, we continue our recruiting spotlight series with Daigle Wilson from Alabama. The 2025 Auburn commit has won a pair of PGF National Championships with Birmingham Thunderbolts.

What about college did you love the most? 

I am committed to Auburn University. I went to my first Auburn football game when I was about 4 years old, and I’ve always grown up an Auburn fan! I love the friendly southern atmosphere and the game day environment at Auburn is absolutely the best!! I have lots of family in the Auburn area, including my Grandparents, and I’m super excited to stay in State and be a part of the SEC!

What is your favorite travel ball memory? 

Winning our 1st PGF Championship in 2021.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from a coach?

To always be myself and be focused on the present. My favorite saying from one of my Coaches is “Excuses are always available. Opportunities are not!”

How did you get interested in softball? 

I started playing T-Ball at the age of 4 and loved it! I have played every year since. When I was 10 years old, I went to my first Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma and knew then I wanted to play on that stage one day!

What are your strengths as a player? What are you trying to improve on the most? 

I am very fast and aggressive on the bases. I play multiple positions- OF/1B for my Travel Team. I’m SS for my High School Team (Orange Beach High School) that’s won 4 State Championships in the last 4 years. I think even at an early age, I had a high Softball IQ. I’m also a leader on and off the field and I think it comes natural for me to be very positive and encouraging to my teammates. I’m always working to improve all aspects of my game.

What player(s) do you look up to the most? 

I’ve always loved Amanda Lorenz. When I was about 10 years old I put her #18 on my Tee. She is an amazing player and I love her excitement and passion for the game!

What are your favorite hobbies outside of softball? 

I live at the Beach and spend lots of time outside on the Beach & Boat. I love to play Pickleball and go Bowling. I was also on my High School Bowling team.

What excites you the most about playing college softball? 

I’m very excited to represent Auburn and very honored and grateful to have the opportunity to play in the biggest and best conference the SEC!
