McComb (Miss.) wide receiver SanFrisco Magee has already started to introduce himself to coaches around the southeast with an impressive junior season and camp circuit in the spring. Now after a Co-MVP performance at CN1 Memorial Day 7v7 tournament last weekend, the secret is out.
The 6-foot-3, 190 pound wideout is currently ranked as the No. 740 overall recruit in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking. He’s the 106th-ranked wide receiver and the No. 20 prospect in the state of Mississippi.
Magee’s first experience last weekend was meeting the host, former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback Cam Newton.
“Never met him before in person,” Magee said. “He was real big. Muscles and everything.”
He currently holds offers from Jackson State, Southern Miss, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Louisville, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Toledo and Tulsa.
The Mississippi three-star had himself quite the weekend in Georgia. Co-MVP honors alongside Five-Star Plus+ KJ Bolden was well-earned, per On3’s Jeremy Johnson.
“Magee stole the day on Sunday. His team took home the tournament trophy,” Johnson said. “Magee’s one-handed catch over a defender broke a buzz to the crowd gathered at Grayson to a boil. Even after the game was over, Magee’s catch was still a topic of discussion.
“Magee is a big, sticky-handed wide receiver that can make plays on any level of the field.”
SanFrisco Magee is hearing from two schools the most right now.
“Mississippi State and Toledo are standing out right now,” Magee said. “I hear a lot from coach Chad (Bumphis).”
Next week, he plans on taking a tour in the Sunshine State. He tells OMSpirit he is set to head to Florida, Florida State, South Florida and UCF.
After this stretch of trips, he says he will settle down and start planning official visits.
“Right now I am looking at probably going to Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Toledo, Louisville and probably Ole Miss.”
As a junior for a 9-2 McComb High School team, Magee had 978 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. On defense he snagged three interceptions.
