2025 four-star WR Kamren Flowers looking to earn Notre Dame offer at Irish Invasion camp

2025 four-star WR Kamren Flowers looking to earn Notre Dame offer at Irish Invasion camp

Kamren Flowers has been on Notre Dame’s radar for some time. Now, the 2025 four-star wide receiver will have the chance to stay on it.

The 6-foot, 160-pound Flowers from West Bloomfield (Mich.) High will be one of many participants in Notre Dame’s annual Irish Invasion camp on Sunday. Like most of the high school football prospects in attendance, Flowers looks to walk away from South Bend with a Notre Dame scholarship offer.

However, earning one is much easier said than done.

Only five rising junior recruits picked up a Notre Dame offer during last year’s Irish Invasion, the program’s premier high school summer football camp. But Flowers might have a headstart compared to some of the other participants.

Before offensive coordinator Tommy Rees left Notre Dame for the same position at Alabama, he stopped by Flowers’ former high school, Ann Arbor (Mich.) Huron High.

And even after Rees left for Tuscaloosa and Flowers went to West Bloomfield, the Irish have continued to keep tabs on him. Cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens — who has the Detroit area as part of his recruiting territory — stopped by his high school during its spring showcase.

Flowers said he’s been in touch with defensive coordinator Al Golden and director of high school scouting Dre Brown. Golden and Brown invited Flowers to compete at this summer’s Irish Invasion. And Flowers accepted it without much hesitation.

“I really like Notre Dame, actually,” Flowers told Blue & Gold. “My geometry teacher graduated from there. She’s told me a lot about being a student there. My stepdad went to Michigan, but he also liked Notre Dame.

“It was that sign that Notre Dame was always there. To be able to play in front of Touchdown Jesus would be very exciting. So it’s something that I could see myself doing in the future. It’s a place that I want to see.”

The On3 Industry Ranking — a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services — considers Flowers the No. 321 overall player, No. 48 wide receiver and No. 5 prospect in Michigan in 2025. He has an 88.82 rating.

In On3’s own rankings, Flowers is the No. 44 wide receiver and No. 4 prospect in Michigan. On3 gave him an 89 rating.

Flowers’ On3 NIL Valuation annual value is $18,100.

Flowers hopes his speed makes him stand out during Notre Dame camp

Headed into summer camp season, Flowers reports 10 scholarship offers, including ones from Arizona State, Miami (Fla.), Michigan State, Penn State and Wisconsin. And according to the junior recruit, there’s one primary reason college programs are interested.

“I try to advertise my speed to the best of my abilities,” Flowers said. “You can’t coach speed. So, it most definitely helped me in my recruiting. The majority of the coaches idolize my speed. That’s the main thing they like about me.”

On Dec. 31, Flowers popped a 4.43-second 40-yard dash at the Supermax Midwest Invitational. Flowers also said that his personal record in the 100-meter dash is 10.6 seconds.

Before Sunday’s Irish Invasion camp, Flowers — who runs the 100- and 200-meter dashes and 4×100- and 4×200-meter relays —will compete in Saturday’s state outdoor track final in Michigan.

Last winter, in the indoor state final, Flowers fell to third place in the 200-meter dash with a 21.85-second mark. He also competed in the 60-meter dash, where he was runner-up and posted a 6.91-second time.

Overall, it will be a monumental weekend for Flowers as he looks to claim a track state championship and a Notre Dame offer. Even though the two potential feats are incomparable, there’s no understating the meaning of a potential Irish scholarship offer.

“It would mean a lot,” Flowers said. “Notre Dame is a very respectable school. An offer would look very good on my résumé. It would be good that Coach Golden, Coach Brown and all those coaches see my potential to play at the next level.”
